The standard refund

You can request a full refund within 7 days of purchase for any reason or no reason at all. Email [email protected] from the email address you used to purchase, include your order ID (visible in your Stripe receipt), and we'll process the refund within 5 business days. The bank may take an additional 3-10 days to credit your card.

How to request

  1. Find your order ID . it's in the receipt email Stripe sent you when you bought Pro or Founders
  2. Email [email protected] from the same email address
  3. Include the order ID and the words "refund please"
  4. You can write more if you want . we read everything . but you don't have to
  5. We process the refund within 5 business days
  6. You'll see the credit on your card within 3-10 additional days, depending on your bank

Pro tier specifics

Pro is a $10/month subscription. The 7-day refund applies to your most recent payment. If you've been on Pro for 6 months and request a refund, you get the most recent month back, not all 6. To stop future charges, cancel from your account dashboard or email us; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

Founders tier specifics

Founders is a $199 one-time payment for lifetime access. The 7-day refund window applies just like any other purchase . full $199 back, no questions, within 7 days.

Beyond the 7-day window, Founders has an additional protection: if we ever shut ByGPT down (we don't plan to), every Founders member gets:

  • 90 days advance notice via email
  • A pro-rated refund based on time elapsed since purchase, calculated against a 5-year reference period

So if we shut down 1 year after you bought Founders, you'd get $199 × (4/5) = $159.20 back. If we shut down 4 years in, you'd get $199 × (1/5) = $39.80 back. Year 5+, no refund (you got your money's worth).

What we don't refund for

  • Beyond the 7-day window, we don't refund Pro or Founders for "I changed my mind" or "I didn't use it enough"
  • We don't refund for academic outcomes . if your school still flags your output, that's a detector or policy issue, not a refund issue
  • We don't refund for chargebacks initiated through your bank without first contacting us . that's just a bad-faith move and it costs us a chargeback fee on top of the refund

Disputes about a refund

If you think we got your refund wrong, reply to the refund email or write again with the details. We'll re-review and respond within 24 hours. If we still disagree, you can dispute through Stripe directly. We rarely have to go that far.
